Frequently asked questions

Does Brzeźno beach have lifeguards during the season?
Yes — the Brzeźno bathing beach is supervised by WOPR lifeguards from mid-June to the end of August, usually between 10:00 and 18:00. Outside these hours and off-season, swimming is at your own risk. Flags are flown depending on conditions: green (safe), yellow (caution), red (no swimming).
Where are the best playgrounds and certified climbing attractions in Gdańsk?
We recommend Orunia Park (a large playground near the fountains), Reagan Park in Brzeźno (playground by the pier), and Hewelianum, where children can climb the fortifications in a supervised environment. The Forum Gdańsk shopping centre has the Kinderland play area, and Loopy's World at Auchan Rumia is an indoor park for younger children.
Is the Wagon children's area in DOKI free of charge?
Wagon in DOKI is a cultural and recreational space dedicated to children — some activities are free of charge, while some workshops and events are paid or require prior registration. Check the current schedule on the DOKI website or ask our concierge before your visit so you do not miss any free events.
Does Oliwa Zoo have its own playground?
Yes, Oliwa Zoo has a children's playground on its grounds. When buying family tickets (available at the entrance) it is worth asking about current promotions — the zoo periodically introduces seasonal family ticket deals. Keep in mind that the zoo grounds are large (approx. 17 ha), so a pram is a good idea for younger children.
How long is the journey to the Sopot pier from Gdańsk?
From the centre of Gdańsk to Sopot the easiest way is by SKM commuter rail — 20 minutes from Gdańsk Główny to Sopot, ticket approx. PLN 7. From Brzeźno take tram 3 or 5 to the centre (15 min) and then the SKM. The Sopot pier is 511 metres long — the round trip takes about 20–25 minutes, so with children allow extra time for breaks and ice creams on the promenade.
