Seaside Letnica, Bastion Wałowa, or DOKI? Choosing the right neighbourhood in Gdańsk defines the character of your stay. We compare the 3 districts where we have apartments.

Frequently asked questions

Which neighbourhood in Gdańsk is best for couples?
For couples looking for a romantic atmosphere we recommend Bastion Wałowa — you are 5 minutes on foot from Long Market, the restaurants on Mariacka Street, and evening strolls along the Motława river. DOKI is the option for couples who appreciate post-industrial character and excellent food at Montownia. We describe both districts in detail on the location pages.
Is DOKI safe in the evenings?
Yes — DOKI is a modern district with heavy pedestrian traffic in the evenings, well lit, with active restaurants and bars. The revitalisation of the Gdańsk Shipyard has made the area well-maintained and regularly patrolled. Guests of our DOKI apartments regularly walk along the waterfront after 22:00 without any issues.
Is Bastion Wałowa noisy in summer?
The centre of Gdańsk is lively in summer — bars near the Coal Market and on Mariacka Street are open until late. Our Bastion Wałowa apartments are separated from the main streets by a courtyard, which significantly reduces noise. If you need complete quiet, Seaside Letnica is calmer in the evenings except on match days.
Is Seaside Letnica far from the centre of Gdańsk?
By tram lines 3, 5, or 6 you can get from Letnica to the Coal Market in approximately 15–20 minutes — services run around the clock. On days off it is also worth considering the Mevo bike-share: the coastal route to the centre takes 25–30 minutes and is one of the most scenic rides in the Tricity. How long does it take to walk from Brzeźno to the Old Town?
On foot from Brzeźno to the Main City is about 40–50 minutes along the promenade and waterfront — a beautiful walk, but a long one. The practical option is the tram: line 3 or 5 from the Starowiejska stop reaches the Coal Market in 15–18 minutes. The SKM from Brzeźno to Gdańsk Główny takes 10 minutes and costs approx. PLN 4.80.
